Terms of service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These terms govern access to and use of afterflow. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the treatment program you represent.

1. The service

afterflow is software for running alumni programs: milestone check-ins, outcome tracking, review requests, referrals, events, and giving. It is an engagement and operations tool, not an electronic medical record and not a crisis service. Programs remain responsible for their own clinical care, crisis response, and compliance obligations.

2. Accounts and access

Program administrators control who on their team can access their workspace and at what role. You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at contact@use-afterflow.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Customer data

Your program owns the data it stores in afterflow. You grant us the rights needed to host, process, and transmit that data to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis, and any required consents, to store and message your alumni through the service. If your program intends to store protected health information, contact us first so we can discuss the agreements your program needs.

4. Acceptable use

  • No use that violates law, including healthcare privacy and anti-spam rules.
  • No sending messages to people who have opted out.
  • No attempts to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • No reselling or white-labeling the service without a written agreement.

5. Fees and billing

Paid plans are billed as described at use-afterflow.com/pricing through our payment processor, Stripe. Fees are flat-rate per program, not per seat. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, subscriptions renew automatically and can be canceled effective at the end of the current billing period.

6. Intellectual property

We own the service, its design, and its code. You own your data. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we make no clinical claims: afterflow's signals, including AI-assisted risk indicators, are engagement aids, not diagnoses, and are never a substitute for professional judgment or emergency services.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees paid to us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms after notice and a reasonable chance to cure, or immediately where required to protect the service or its users. On termination, data export and deletion follow the retention terms in the privacy policy.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to account owners at least 30 days before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
